La Nuova Città delle Dame
Quando il podcast diventa uno spazio di leadership umanistica, soft skills e trasformazione educativa
Viviamo in un tempo in cui tutto scorre velocemente.
Le informazioni si consumano in pochi secondi.
Le conversazioni diventano superficiali.
Le persone parlano continuamente, ma ascoltano sempre meno.
Forse è anche per questo che, negli ultimi mesi, ho sentito il bisogno di costruire insieme agli studenti uno spazio diverso.
Uno spazio fatto di voci.
Di storie.
Di memoria.
Di relazione.
Così è nata La Nuova Città delle Dame, un progetto di podcast educativo, pedagogia narrativa e leadership umanistica sviluppato all’interno del corso di Pedagogia sociale e del lavoro dell’Università Roma Tre.
Ispirato all’opera di Christine de Pizan, il progetto immagina una città simbolica costruita dalle donne, dalle loro parole, dalla loro capacità di generare conoscenza, consapevolezza e trasformazione sociale.
Ma questa città continua ancora oggi a essere costruita.
Attraverso nuove storie.
Nuove voci.
Nuove forme di leadership.
Oltre il podcast: un’esperienza educativa e relazionale
Definire La Nuova Città delle Dame semplicemente una collana podcast sarebbe riduttivo.
Perché ciò che è accaduto durante questo percorso è stato molto più profondo.
Gli studenti non sono stati soltanto partecipanti.
Sono diventati:

autori
-
storyteller
-
ricercatori
-
costruttori di memoria collettiva
Ed è forse questa la parte più significativa del progetto.
Perché le competenze più importanti raramente si sviluppano solo attraverso la teoria.
Nascono nelle esperienze.
Nelle relazioni.
Nella possibilità di dare voce alle persone.
Ed è qui che soft skills, educazione, storytelling e apprendimento collaborativo si incontrano davvero.
Le soft skills prendono forma nelle storie

Ma ogni esperienza continua a ricordarmi una cosa fondamentale:
Le competenze umane non si apprendono davvero soltanto studiandole.
Si costruisce vivendo.
Ascoltando.
Collaborando.
Imparando a raccontare e a raccontarsi.
Ed è esattamente ciò che è accaduto all’interno de La Nuova Città delle Dame.
Ogni episodio è diventato uno spazio in cui allenare:

empatia
-
comunicazione
-
leadership etica
-
resilienza
-
responsabilità
-
creatività trasformativa
Le soft skills non sono come concetti astratti.
Ma come esperienze vissute.
Le donne che costruiscono la città
Virginia Woolf.
Rosa Parks.
Nilde Iotti.
Tina Anselmi.
Michela Murgia.
Anita Garibaldi.
E poi storie contemporanee segnate dalla guerra, dalla migrazione, dalla cura e dalla capacità di ricominciare.
Ogni episodio rappresenta simbolicamente l’ingresso di una nuova Dama nella città immaginata da Christine de Pizan.
Una città costruita non dal potere.
Ma dalla parola.
Dalla memoria.
Dalla resistenza.
Dalla possibilità di trasformare l’esperienza individuale in consapevolezza collettiva.
Il podcast come spazio di educazione e leadership
Negli anni ho imparato che gli studenti raramente ricordano soltanto contenuti teorici.
Ricordano esperienze.
Ricordano l'attenzione.
Ricordano i luoghi in cui si sono davvero sentiti coinvolti.
Per questo credo che l’università debba essere anche uno spazio umano.
Non soltanto trasmissione di sapere.
Ma luogo di dialogo, di ricerca condivisa e di costruzione di significato.
Il podcast, in questo senso, è diventato un vero laboratorio di innovazione didattica, di educazione narrativa e di leadership umanistica.
Uno spazio in cui educazione, cittadinanza culturale e relazioni umane possono incontrarsi.
La voce come responsabilità condivisa
In un tempo attraversato da conflitti, trasformazioni sociali e nuove fragilità educative, la voce assume un significato diverso.
Ascoltare diventa una forma di presenza.
Raccontare diventa una forma di responsabilità.
E forse proprio qui nasce il valore più profondo di questo progetto:
Ricordarci che dietro ogni storia esiste sempre una possibilità educativa.
Perché le storie non cambiano soltanto il modo in cui guardiamo il mondo.
A volte cambiano anche il modo in cui scegliamo di abitarlo.
Una città ancora aperta
La Nuova Città delle Dame non è soltanto una raccolta di podcast.
È uno spazio educativo e culturale ancora aperto.
Una città che continua a essere costruita attraverso parole, esperienze, relazioni e visioni del futuro.
E forse è proprio questo che oggi l’educazione dovrebbe fare:
Creare spazi in cui le persone possano sentirsi ascoltate, riconosciute e capaci di generare cambiamento.

The New City of Ladies
When podcasting becomes a space for humanistic leadership, soft skills, and educational transformation
We live in a time in which everything moves quickly.
Information is consumed within seconds.
Conversations become increasingly superficial.
People speak constantly, yet truly listening has become rare.
Perhaps this is exactly why, over the past months, I felt the need to create a different kind of space together with my students.
A space made of voices.
Of stories.
Of memory.
Of relationships.
This is how The New City of Ladies was born — an educational podcast project focused on narrative pedagogy, humanistic leadership, and soft skills development, developed within the course of Social and Work Pedagogy at Roma Tre University.
Inspired by Christine de Pizan’s visionary work, the project imagines a symbolic city built by women through words, knowledge, resilience, and the ability to generate awareness and social transformation.
And this city continues to be built today.
Through new stories.
New voices.
New forms of leadership.
Beyond podcasting: an educational and relational experience
Defining The New City of Ladies simply as a podcast series would be reductive.
Because what happened throughout this project became something much deeper.
Students were not merely participants.
They became:

authors
-
storytellers
-
researchers
-
builders of collective memory
And perhaps this is the most meaningful part of the experience.
Because the most important competencies rarely develop only through theory.
They emerge through experiences.
Through relationships.
Through the possibility of giving voice to people.
This is where soft skills, education, storytelling, and collaborative learning truly meet.
Soft skills take shape through stories
For years, my academic work has focused on:

But every experience continues to remind me of one essential truth:
human competencies are not truly learned only by studying them.
They are built by living them.
By listening.
By collaborating.
By learning how to tell stories — and how to tell our own.
And this is exactly what happened within The New City of Ladies.
Each episode became a space in which students could develop:

responsibility

transformative creativity
Soft skills not as abstract concepts.
But as lived experiences.
The women who build the city
Virginia Woolf.
Rosa Parks.
Nilde Iotti.
Tina Anselmi.
Michela Murgia.
Anita Garibaldi.
And also contemporary stories marked by war, migration, care, resilience, and the courage to begin again.
Each episode symbolically represents the entrance of a new Lady into the city imagined by Christine de Pizan.
A city built not through power.
But through words.
Through memory.
Through resistance.
Through the possibility of transforming individual experience into collective awareness.
Podcasting as a space for education and leadership
Over the years, I have learned that students rarely remember only theoretical content.
They remember experiences.
They remember attention.
They remember the places where they felt genuinely involved.
This is why I believe universities should also become human spaces.
Not only places for transmitting knowledge.
But spaces for dialogue, shared research, and meaning-making.
In this sense, podcasting became a true laboratory of educational innovation, narrative education, and humanistic leadership.
A space where education, cultural citizenship, and human relationships could meet.
Voice as shared responsibility
In a time shaped by conflicts, social transformations, and new educational fragilities, voice acquires a different meaning.
Listening becomes a form of presence.
Storytelling becomes a form of responsibility.
And perhaps this is where the deepest value of this project truly lies:
reminding us that behind every story there is always an educational possibility.
Because stories do not only change the way we see the world.
Sometimes, they also change the way we choose to live within it.
A city still under construction
The New City of Ladies is not simply a collection of podcasts.
It is an educational and cultural space still under construction.
A city that continues to grow through words, experiences, relationships, and visions of the future.
And perhaps this is exactly what education should do today:
create spaces in which people can feel heard, recognized, and capable of generating change.
